Silver Arrow Archery Tournament

The Silver Arrow Archery Tournament was first held in Distant Shore at the original Foxworthy Manor camp site in 1996 (A.S.XXXI). Previously, the only archery tournament held in the Barony was the annual Baronial Archery Championship. Lady Eadwynn and Lord Wynfrið came up with the idea for the Silver Arrow Archery Tournament to encourage more competitive shooting in the Barony and have run the tournament each year since then with the exception of 2000, 2003 and 2004. The tournaments have been run during the summer in conjunction with either the annual Baronial War Camp event or another event taking place in Distant Shore. The winner of the tournament receives a 'Silver Arrow' and the top three winners receive 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place tokens made by Lady Eadwynn and Lord Wynfrið.

The tournament consists of a variety of challenging novelty shoots and include a traditional prycke shoot (a black paper target with a gold center) at a distance of 20-25 yds, the helm shoot (a mock-up of a medieval helm suspended on a stake) at a distance of 25-30 yds, a stake shoot (a wand) which is a 1-2 inch diameter stake at a distance of 25-30 yards, a slot shoot (a mock-up of a castle window) at a distance of 20-25 yards, the chicken shoot (a 3D shoot consisting of 3 chickens at various distances), an advancing warrior shoot at distances of 70, 60, 50, 40, 30 and 20 yards, and a new shoot not done in recent tournaments (moving targets, etc.)

The following is a list of the previous and current tournament winners:
