Ongoing Activities


Quarterly Canton meetings are currently scheduled to be held on the second Sunday of the month in January, April, July, and October. The January/13 meeting will be held at the Dragon Bowl Restaurant in New Glasgow - details and directions to follow. For further information, please contact the Seneschal (Syr Yesungge Altan - m.k.a. Weekly archery practice in Distant Shore has been suspended for the winter months. Practice will resume at MacLean Keep in the East Borough sometime in the late spring. Please contact one of the local archery marshals, (Eadwynn æt Hræfneshyrste - Edna McCulloch or Wynfrið æt Huntandune - Paul McCulloch) at 752-2158, or by email (pmcc@eastlink.ca) for further information.




Upcoming Events in Distant Shore


Library Demo
March 9 and 10, 2013


A two day demo is being held at the New Glasgow library as part of an ongoing program to build our local membership.
In conjunction with the demo, we also will be showcasing the SCA with period clothing, weapons and
other items in a large display case at the library entrance for a two week period prior to the demo.

Location: Pictou-Antigonish Regional Library, New Glasgow
(182 Dalhousie Street - corner of Archimedes and Dalhousie next to the Fire Station)

Time: March 9, 11:00am-4:00pm and March 10, 2:00-5:00pm

Mancala Wars II

To ARMS TO ARMS!!! Oh OK, To Game Boards. To Game Boards!!!
Hone your skills, sharpen your wits, and let's get ready to RUMBLE!!!! It is the return of Distant Shores Mancala Wars!!!

A&S Challenge: Can you make a Mancala board? Any medium it just needs to fit in the building.
The battle-fierce mobs will judge the best of show :)

Mancala Tourney: Melee/Team Play is allowed. We will use Mancala Snail Rules of play

Dayboard & Feast will be conjured by Lady Sabine Jullia Metella & Sir Yesungge Altan
Dancing of cours. Challenge here too, can anyone write a Mancala Dance??
