Shire of Gleann Dubh

Shire Arms

The Shires of Gleann Dubh and Vaca del Mar are soon to merge as one group. The new name & Arms have yet to be devised.

The Shire of Gleann Dubh (pronounced "GLEN DEW," meaning the Dark Glen) encompasses the entire eastern side and the northwestern end of Volusia County and all of Flagler County. Daytona Beach is our key city. Our weather is generally warm to hot, lending to a large proportion of "early-period" personas (Celtic, in particular).

We boast the "(Knowne) World's Most Famous Beach," and the "International Speedway" for dragon and fire-lizard races (many of these fire-lizard riders come down on a yearly basis, wearing even more black leather than we do on the battlefield)!

Our best known event site is Camp Winona in DeLeon Springs.

The Shire meets at 7:00 pm on the second Monday of each month at "Barnes & Noble Booksellers", 1900 W. International Speedway Blvd. (US-92), Daytona Beach, FL 32114 Phone# (904) 238-1118. Interests are widely varied, and small groups meet independently for classes or work in music, needle-crafts, costuming, and other assorted activities (It really doesn't matter if anything's been planned...there are usually at least a few who are willing to get together at a moment's notice for almost any excuse). For further Information, contact the Seneschal, Drew, at maddruid23@aol.com or the Deputy Seneschal, Kathy Deissler-Gage, at katswing@gateway.net or see the Shire Calendar page for a break down of scheduled shire activities.
