Stan Wyrm Arts and Sciences Competition and Yule Feast
ADDENDUM
Please be advised the Stan Wyrm Yule Feast will be held in the following manner.
You may check in at either location after 10 AM when the sites open.
At the Great Falls Housing Authority Office, we will have the evening feaste, starting at 6:30 PM. Parking is on either side of the building off 15th Street South (cross street 6th Avenue South), as well as on the side of the road on 15th Street. there is a traffic light at 6th Avenue, so look to your right. This is a wet site, no alcohol may be taken outside to drink.
The Arts and Sciences competition, and display, will take place at the Westgate Mall in suite 27. I will be there at 9 am to get the key and give it to Marco, who will be responsible to set up the tables, 20 chairs, and help people with displays and competitions. If TRM come in before then, Marco is their host, and I will help. TRM may wish to have morning court at the Westgate Mall. Marco has advised us he has to leave at 11 AM to do symphony practice, and will not return until after 1 PM. I WILL NEED TO HAVE ANOTHER SHIRE MEMBER RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SAFETY OF THE ARTS AND SCIENCES DISPLAYS.
The MERCHANTING will take place at Suite 27 in the "back L" of the room. There is room for about 6 tables, and we will ask local people to bring their own tables and chairs. If you know of out of town merchants, please advise them.
Rapier and Heavy fighting will also take place at the Suite 27. Please stay away from the glass windows and doors. Please treat the floor gently. Fighting is scheduled to begin after the luncheon at about 1:30-2 PM. We will have MANY MUNDANES in the building. The ST vincent de paul and the commodoties people have the two big rooms on that side, and the 4-H has a big 2-day event on the other side. Please do NOT leave any of your belongings unattended.
DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES BRING ANY ANIMALS OTHER THAN SEEING EYE OR HEARING EAR TRAINED ANIMALS. please do not go into the food basket or food commodities or 4-H areas. They are not open to the public.
Only people who are not minors may consume alcoholic beverages as this is a discreetly wet site.
Do not under any circumstances use nails, thumtacks, tape or anything like that on the walls or windows at the Mall. This is their rule, and we pay for damages.
The Mall must be cleaned up and ready for janitorial inspection by 5:30 PM.
Please return to the feaste Hall at that time, since the feast will start at 6:30 PM. Musical entertainment will provided during the first remove, Singing during the second remove, and a story during the third remove. Final Court and awards will be given after the feaste. the feast hall closes at 10 pm.
Thank you for your kind considerations, and for your volunteer hours. Remember, if each of us volunteers 1 hour, we have 8 other hours to play. I need troll help, waiver assistance, hall set up and clean up at BOTH sites, dishes after the feast, and serving at the feast. Thank you in advance. Sign up for volunteer time will be at the troll site.

EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT

Welcome artisans, fighters, dancers, and the general populace to our annual Arts and Sciences Competition and Yule Feast on Saturday, December 3, 2005! We’ll have games, contests, competitions, and prizes, as well as a wonderful feast offered by the Feast Steward, Lord Raffael and his associates. Boars Head, Shepard’s Pie and
Pommes d’ Or, are just part of the three remove feast. An entire menu can be obtained by e-mailing the Event Steward. A light luncheon will be served in the early afternoon.
The site, Great Falls Housing Authority, is located at 1500 Chowen Springs Loop, Great Falls, Montana, 59405, on the corner of 15th Street South and 6th Avenue South. Parking is available in front of the building, and in the parking lane on the right hand side of the street. Take the exit for 10th Avenue South into Great Falls, and follow 10th Ave South 2.5 miles before you turn left from 10th Avenue onto 15th Street at the exit for Hwy 87 Black Eagle. From the East, 10th Avenue South is the main road into town. Take a right hand turn onto 15th Street. Drive four blocks, site is on the right.
Our A&S Competition for Shire Champion requires registration one month prior to the event (by November 2 at the latest), so we can plan for table set up, judging forms, content for judging criteria, and prizes. Documentation is heavily encouraged. Those who wish to only display their items will be asked to complete information as required prior to the event, but will not be judged in the competition. Please contact our Arts and Sciences Minister, Marco dei Caprioli at marcocaprioli@hotmail.com for further information. His phone is 406.781.9888 no calls after 10pm. If you would like your arts and sciences projects displayed but cannot attend, please notify the Event Steward for assistance.
The site opens at 10 AM. All A&S exhibits and competing items must be on display no later than noon. Judging is planned for noon to 2 PM. Prizes will be awarded at the evening meal. Our new Minister of Arts and Sciences will preside for this. He is also our current Shire Champion. Fighting, heavy and rapier, is scheduled for 2 PM to 4:30 PM.
During the afternoon, there will be court dancing, bardic presentation, table games, and arts and sciences demonstrations. Afternoon events will be completed by 5:30 PM, when the hall will be set up for evening feast. The Yule Feast will be served from 6:30 to 8:30 PM, with musical entertainment. The hall clean up will take place between 9 and 10 PM.
Site fee is $2 for members, with a $3 surcharge for non-members. Feast Fee is $8 for adults and $4 for children age 6-11. Babes (5 years and under) are free. We will ask for feast reservations, paid in advance and received by Wednesday, November 30, 2005. Please make checks out to Shire of Stan Wyrm, SCA, Inc. PO Box 1233, Great Falls, MT 59403.
