How did different classes of people live during the Dark Ages? How did
dress, dance, food, customs, and more vary from social class to social
class? Come enjoy a day of schola focused on different aspects of
Daily Life in the Dark Ages.
A delicious buffet-style lunch will be available during the day, and
is included in the site fee.
10:30am – gate opens
12:00-5:00pm – classes
12:30pm – lunch buffet opens
6:00pm – site closes
Merchants are welcome, and there is no merchant fee; please contact
the event steward to reserve a table for merchanting. Merchant set-up
begins 30 minutes before site opens.
The site is a beautiful historic sandstone church, located at the
intersection of Route 11 and 11B in downtown Potsdam, NY (Shire of the
Northern Outpost, Northern Region). Grocery stores and restaurants are
available within easy walking distance including a Co-op featuring
organic and other specialty foods: www.potsdamcoop.com; there are
several B&Bs nearby: stlawbb.com. There is very limited parking on
site, but parking is available on the other side of Elm St behind
Downtown Snell Hall, or around the corner on Main St behind the public
