June – July 2014
Hosted By the Canton of Ard Chreag
Further Details to be announced!
It is with a heavy heart that We, the Baron and Baroness of Skraeling Althing, must share with the Barony some very sad news.
On Monday night Lady Bridget of Harrogate Heath passed from this world.
We will miss her ready smile, her hugs, her giving nature and her care for those around her. The Barony has lost a bright spark, but we will treasure her memory.
To her grieving husband, Lord Stephen of Harrowgate Heath, We offer our most heartfelt condolences and support during this difficult time.
We ask the Barony to please support Lord Stephen and the Canton of Harrowgate Heath during the time to come.
As it has been announced that the funeral will be11am Saturday, July 5th, at the Wilson funeral home in Cornwall Ontario, the Autocrats of Baronial Muster have decided, with the blessing of the Baronial Council, to cancel Baronial Muster out of respect for Lady Bridget and Lord Stephen.
With Great sadness and Sympathy we share this news,
Baron Shahid and Baroness Catherine
Baron and Baroness of Skraeling Althing
The Baron’s Brouhaha is a fun-filled weekend of camping, combat, and celebrating. The site opens Friday @ 4pm, July 11, 2014 and runs until Sunday afternoon, July 13. There will lots of armoured combat on Saturday (and maybe Friday night) along with rapier, thrown weapons and archery. For those wishing to participate, there will be a pot-luck feast on Saturday night and a brewing competition. Bardic circles will happen on both nights. During the weekend there will be an ongoing game loosely based on Settlers of Catan that will be easy to participate in. Prizes will be drawn on Saturday night.
The site is located on a 5 acre farm that is owned by Baron Penda and Baroness Sibylla of Ramshaven. Most of the camping activities will be centralised around a large barn. The barn will serve as a shelter from the elements in the event of rain. It will also be a place for crafts and feasting. A part of it might also be used for rapier if the weather is poor.
The site has lots of space for camping, a large scale melee, thrown weapons and archery. There is potable water at the site. Limited electricity in the barn is available for those who need it.
Site Location: Site is located at 973 Concession Road 8, Tiverton, ON N0G 2T0. The GPS coordinates are: 44.309678,-81.444268 or +44 18’34.84″,-81 26’39.36″. You can get close to the property by travelling to Underwood (intersection of Highway 21 and Concession Road 8), travel south on Highway 21 for 2km, and turn right on Concession 8. The driveway is 2km down the road heading East on the right.
Site Fees: $10 per adult, kids under 16 are free (same fee whether you camp all weekend or day trip). $5 KMS applies to non-members.
