Source Materials

Primary Sources

If you are interested in doing more extensive dance research, then a book of dance reconstructions, and indeed this book itself, is neither sufficient nor desirable.

In these cases there is no real substitute for having access to the primary sources. These include the various sources listed in the Primary Dance Sources: An Annontated Bibliography by Matt Larsen (also contained in this book).

The more important ones, as well as some recent reproductions and translations of these, are listed at the back of this book.

Other Sources

The ultimate guide to renaissance dance sources and resources is the Rendance Bibliography which is available on the internet, and reproduced in the back of this book.
