9/1 2:20pm, Setting our paddles in the water at the Three Legged Lake access point.
First portage into Spider Lake
This view is parallel to campsite #2, looking towards campsite #5 (on the right). Stop and climb the rock ramp - it gives a nice view of the area. The portage to Canoe Lake is just left of the rock ramp, but it didn't look like a very interesting lake to paddle on.
Note that an old home / hunting lodge? can be found about 1/3 of the way along the trail on the left.
This is campsite #15 from a distance and closer.
Campsite #15 Campsite #15Here is where we beached the canoe at #15 and the bit of sandy beach that the kids liked. Sandy beaches are pretty rare here - often there are weeds. My favorites were campsites with a rock ledge that made it easy to get in and out of the water.
