These pictures are from a May 19th, 2007 trip
The offical website is here: Pinehurst Lake Conservation Authority website
When we went our kids were just over 4 years old and it is a fairly long walk from the campgrounds to the beach. It's a sizeable drive from the entrance to the camping. The park layout seems to have been poorly done - or was done in a car-centric way.
The group camping looked nice. Serviced camp sites are really packed together but the unserviced ones are nice.
Sadly every campsite has a firepit. Were were smoked out by the wood burning maniacs around us. They were in their late teens hauling every branch and log that they could back to their site and axing it into firewood. They stayed up till the wee hours of the morning making lots of noise; and then quieted down whenever a park warden came around.
We would love to see campsites without firepits and where fires were banned. Unserviced, no fires, no loud noise camping!!
Here is the main beach.
We took a paddle around the lake (easily done in an hour).
Trilliums were in bloom and we hiked some trails in the wet morning grass. Bugs were not bad yet.
Just 6km from the park is a long bridge over the Grand river with a footpath on it and there I took these pictures.
