The weather for this hike was fairly good. There was cloud; but very little rain. The wind was strong
though and at times we considered turning back.
The trail going down the other side of the mountain was closed due to erosion dammage.
The hike took a total of 4 hours and was listed as 9 mi.
One you clear the forest and start climbing in the open you will see lots of heather growing in the valley. The first picture is a valley wall and the 2nd is the valley that you will be climbing in.
After climbing the valley you will be in a plateau that is boggy and divided into islands. From here you climb a
bit more and go either left to explore other peaks or right to climb Ben Venue.
The climbing will take you out of the boggy bits and onto more solid rock. You have several falls hills to climb
up and down over before you get to the real peak and good views.
At this point we are making the final walk to the actual peak (in the distance).
At this point we turned back down and I took two more pictures as we followed the trail back. The wind was so bad
we didn't explore the peaks on the other side of the ridge.
