Glasgow

I found Glasgow to be a dirty city. There were candy wrappers and bottles everywhere. The stonework is all dirty as a legacy of the industrial past. These pictures are from the shopping district; a set of streets closed to cars. Even though it was drizzling and raining there were plenty of people about.

Glasgow Cathedral

This really is a beautiful cathedral with lots of history. Admission was free and I found the lighting (small, very bright lights) to be bad for viewing. But the huge stone pillars, woodwork and large spaces where impressive. The inside pictures were taken at 1/8 sec on f2.8 with a 28mm lens. I don't think that you can really capture the beauty of this place on film.

Botanical Gardens

These gardens were quite nice and extensive. They were in an old cast iron framed greenhouse. Admission was free and there also were extensive gardens outside the greenhouse. These pictures are from the outdoor gardens.
