Lairig Eilde and Lairig Gartain hike, Scotland - Eric Praetzel

This hike is a low level hike in the valleys. You hike along one valley, with mountains (small) on either side. At the half way point you can return the way you came, go down to the town, or return by a different valley.

Here is the view at the start of the hike. The fog / clouds were hanging low. The hike involves a low, easy climb as you go down the valley, and then a descent on the other side. The ground was quite boggy - ie wet and mucky and web and even more mucky. For most of the hike we could not see anything until we started to descend on the other side.

At the half way point you will find a small waterfall and look towards the town of Dalness.

From there we hiked back by the valley to the other side.

At the end you have to either walk back along the road or, part way, walk along the old road. Of course there are sheep everywhere.
