I quite enjoyed this hike. At times there was a bit of difficulty finding the trail [I did
not have the one page trail map] and last/first hour hiking up the Canyon was not very exciting.
But it was very nice going down a canyon to the Rio Grande and then paralleling the river for 2
hours before returning up another canyon. The pollution was fairly bad when I was there so the
visibility is not as good as it can be.
Yes, this can be a very hot hike. It took me 5 and 1/2 hours for the whole hike. I started it
one hour before sunrise and was sheltered by the walls of the canyon as I hiked the loop
clockwise. That made for a cooler, more enjoyable trip; but it is not good for pictures.
