Shire Member's Work

"Kind Gentles

I am Ailionora inghean Ronan, and this is my Great-great Granddaughter, Ailionora Fuller. She is wearing an Italian Renaissance gown that is quite the fashion in 1507. She is quite proud of it as she made the entire dress, and the padded and beaded fillet entirely by hand over the course of several months."

Mundanely, Janet DeGregoria is a full time student at SUNY Empire State College.

Here is a set of chainmail juggling balls Hrelgar made for fun. There is no known basis for them as being period but they are still neat. The chainmail is made from 16 guage stainless steel wire with a 1/4 inch inside diameter. "I was inspired by a pattern I found on Dweezle's web site. The first one was made using that pattern, but I quickly realized an easier way to make them. The other 2 I made by making a 7 row by 30 ring cylinder and then shrink each successive row on each end until they get down to a single ring on the end." They are stuffed with old socks.

To all from Alayne,

"The East Kingdom always has a need for people to do projects. Whether it is making medallions for Kingdom level awards, scrolls for awards or other projects, those who want to keep their hands busy with needlework, leather work or other arts and science can always find something to do.

I enjoy doing bead work. In the past I have done many a bead work Queen’s favor for Pennsic. So it was that Lady Eilis contacted me regarding the exchange of gift pillows at Pennsic between Kingdoms."
