Our shire is one of the hundreds of chapters around the world of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), a 501(c)3 educational nonprofit. What do we do, you ask? We recreate and re-enact pre-17th century history through events and activities for education and fun!

o Name "Shire of the Inner Sea" passed by College of Heralds: 1993
o The Shire of the Inner Sea passes Curia: August 1995
o The Shire of the Inner Sea was recognized and granted full status by the crown: Jan. 6, 1996
o Where We are Located: Within the Known World of SCA, the Shire of the Inner Sea is located in the Kingdom of Northshield (and just recently resided in the Middle Kingdom (i.e. Midrealm)).
Using modern geography, the Shire of the Inner Sea is located around Duluth, MN and the surrounding area, north to the Canadian border. Our members hail from Duluth, Cloquet, Wrenshall, Mahtowa, Superior and beyond.
