Subject: The Inaugural Ball gown

The March issue of Threads magazine has an article on the construction
of Mrs. Clinton's inaugural ball gown. It was made by Barbara Matera
Ltd. in New York (her workshop has made costumes for A Chorus Line and
The Secret Garden).

It's a good article. I like the information on beading. I've done some
beading and enjoyed the results but, I've never tried beading on lace.
Has anyone? Any hints -- suggestions -- warnings?

The result is lovely. This spring I'm going to be working on a ballgown
with a lace overdress and I'm tempted to try some beading on the lace.

Help!
Does anyone know what a WWI canadian army uniform looks like? I'm
looking for something that would have been worn in the streets during
recruitment for WWII. Would a shorter jacket-type uniform be
appropriate, or only a longer one? Thanks in advance--
